Synchronicity and the Meaning of Numbers (0-12) ⋆ LonerWolf

Numbers are ancient, meaningful and powerful.

It was the Pythagoreans in the 6th century BC. who were among the first groups to propagate the idea that numbers are not just mathematical symbols, but they actually have spiritual meaning.

As Pythagoras is said to have said: “Numbers are the ruler of forms and ideas and the cause of gods and demons.”

Thanks to Pythagoras we have the system of numerology, the assigns different meanings to numbers.

But numerology is only one side of the coin: numbers have been given special meanings throughout history, religion and cultural mythology. From East to West, numbers have been important for millennia.

Numbers and Synchronicity

How often do you have repeating numbers like 11:11, 777, 1010, 4444, 999 and so on?

Seeing repeated numbers is a form of synchronicity—a phenomenon that psychiatrist Carl Jung defined as “a momentous coincidence of two or more events involving something other than the Probability of coincidence is involved.”

In other words, synchronicity is far more than coincidence (which involves luck and coincidence). Synchronicity is born from the unconscious and etheric realms. In other words, when we experience synchronicity, signs and messages are sent to us from our subconscious and higher selves.

For example, Jung once described a situation of synchronicity in which he realized that he was half human, half human Fish was a symbol. Then he was served fish for lunch. Someone then joked about making an “April Fish” out of another. In the afternoon one of his patients showed him a picture of a fish. In the evening another person showed him an embroidery of sea monsters and fish. The next morning, his next patient told him about a dream she had about a fish.

Synchronism can actually be quite unnerving, especially when it comes to certain symbols – and in this case, numbers – keep appearing.

If you keep seeing the same number over and over again, it is important that you try to explore the symbolism that such a number holds for you. The repetitive numbers, symbols, and words you hear all the time all have tremendous meaning in your life that you should pay close attention to.

Numbers and Spiritual Awakening

Images of a cosmic explosion surrounded by Numbers

Since experiencing synchronicity and attuning to the meaning of numbers requires us to be present and aware, seeing repeated numbers is usually associated with one process of spiritual awakening. p>

When we experience a spiritual awakening, almost all of our priorities in life shift. We begin to ask big questions about our purpose, purpose and what the true meaning of life is.

As you undergo a spiritual awakening process, you may find that a certain repeated numbers like 1111 or 1212 appear in your life at moments when you feel lost and need spiritual guidance.

Such moments of synchronicity that inspire curiosity and mindfulness are often used as messages of your Soul, Spiritual Guide, Respected , or True Nature to “Wake You Up.”

Numbers and Symbolism

Image of a multitude of numbers floating around in space

All numbers throughout history have different meanings in different cultures. Overall, however, numbers have acquired similar meanings.

Take the number four, for example. Native Americans believe there are four winds and four cardinal points. Similarly, the ancient Greeks believed there were four elements. In Christianity, four is the number of creation (i.e., on the fourth day of the week, God finished creating the material universe). As we can see, four has a very similar meaning across three completely different time periods and cultures.

Just a note. I want to emphasize that while it is beneficial to find out the general meaning of numbers, it is imperative that you find out your personal meaning.

Synchronism, symbolism and meaning Numbers are all very personal, so be careful about attributing meaning to a situation in your life that isn’t actually accurate or relevant.

It can be tempting to not put in the work and just stick to the traditional follow meaning of the number is. Please don’t do this. It’s far better to do a little work and figure out what the meaning of numbers means to YOU in the first place.

Here are some ways to find out what each number means to you and your context:

  • Write down each word association with the number. For example, if you keep seeing the number 2, you could write: “male and female, relationships, yin and yang, duality, light and dark, up and down, material and spiritual…”
  • What’s on your mind? After seeing a series of repeating numbers, you may immediately have a thought or idea of what the number means. Don’t ignore this immediate interpretation! Write it down or draw it. Often the meanings we first ascribe to the numbers we see are the truest because little mental effort is required. The more mental effort we make, the more we begin to fabricate meanings.
  • Which interpretation makes you feel strong? Many people ask me how they can tell whether their interpretation of a number is correct. My answer is to pay attention to how triggering the interpretation is. For example, does your analysis cause feelings of excitement, awe, fear, jubilation, or even just tingling down your spine? This is a good sign that you have found the right explanation because your body is reacting in an amplified manner. However, if your interpretation feels cold, shallow, or distant, it probably doesn’t fit.
